A guy from Eaton has been sentenced to a maximum of twelve years in jail for engaging in sexual assault and distributing explicit photographs and videos to a thirteen-year-old girl.
Calvin Ray Keener received a sentence of eight to 12 years in prison from Preble County Common Pleas Judge Stephen Bruns on Thursday. This came after Keener pleaded guilty on June 11 to two charges of distributing sexually explicit material involving a minor and engaging in sexual activity with a minor. Additionally, Keener was charged with tampering with evidence.
The Eaton Police Division received a report on February 13th regarding a youngster who was reported missing. Subsequently, the girl’s family located her at Keener’s residence. According to an affidavit filed in Eaton Municipal Court, the teenager stated that she engaged in sexual activity with Keener on many occasions.

The adolescent informed the authorities that she initiated communication with Keener on Facebook, during which she disclosed her age as 13 and he claimed to be 26. Several days later, she claimed to have visited his residence, where they allegedly engaged in sexual activity. According to the affidavit, she also claimed that she and Keener shared explicit photographs and videos.
During an interview with the police, Keener allegedly admitted to attempting to establish a romantic relationship with the girl. He stated that their communication began on January 12th over social media, and they met in person on three occasions.
According to court filings, Keener also possessed two sets of the girl’s undergarments, which he attempted to dispose of by flushing them down the toilet after the police visited his flat.
At his sentencing, Keener was also classified as a Tier II sexual offender. Upon his release from incarceration, he will be obligated to periodically update his residential information with the local sheriff’s office every six months for a duration of 25 years.
