An overnight manhunt for a gunman suspected in the killings of five people in North Las Vegas ended Tuesday morning when authorities apprehended him just before he committed himself.
Police have identified Eric Adams, 47, as a suspect in two shootings on Monday night, according to a North Las Vegas Police Department news release.
Five people were slain, and a 13-year-old girl was hospitalized in critical condition with a gunshot wound during the shooting spree at two apartment buildings.

Around 10 p.m. on Monday, police received reports of a shooting at an apartment complex on Casa Norte Drive, according to the release. When police came, they discovered two adult females, one in her early 40s and the other in her late 50s, with gunshot wounds.
Police say medical professionals later pronounced them deceased.
Police later found a third victim, a 13-year-old female with a gunshot wound. She was still in critical condition at UMC Trauma Center on Monday night, according to authorities.
Three other victims with gunshot wounds were discovered in another apartment in the same complex, including two women in their mid-20s and a guy in his early 20s. Police reported that all three were pronounced deceased at the scene.
Police soon identified Adams as a suspect, and the manhunt began overnight.
Police looked for Adams throughout the night until around 10 a.m. on Tuesday, when they received information that he was at a business on East Lake Mead Boulevard.
When police came, Adams fled to the backyard of an adjacent home.
“Officers began giving Adams verbal commands to drop the firearm, however, Adams ignored those commands and died by suicide,” CNN states.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
