Connecticut Man Lands in Jail for 2 Decades after Child Molestation Charges Found to Be True: Docs

Christian Lorig, 36, of East Haven, was sentenced to twenty years in prison after being found guilty of sexually assaulting two children under the age of ten in Branford, East Haven, and Ledyard between the years of 2015 and 2019. The announcement was made by John P. Doyle, Jr., the State’s Attorney for the New Haven Judicial District.

According to Doyle, the sentence will be suspended after the 36-year-old has served ten years of his sentence and has also completed ten years of probation for sexual offenders. During the sentencing hearing that took place in New Haven Superior Court the previous week, the victims and their families were present and addressed the court.

Lorig entered a guilty plea on April 3, 2024, to two counts of sexual assault in the second degree and two counts of risk of injury to a minor. Together, these charges were brought against him.

Assistant State’s Attorney Alexander C. Beck and Assistant State’s Attorney Melissa R. Holmes, with the assistance of Inspector Sean Faughnan, were the ones who were responsible for prosecuting the cases.

Doyle extended his appreciation to the East Haven, Branford, and Mashantucket police departments for their efforts in conducting investigations, as well as to the state Department of Children and Families and the Yale-New Haven Hospital Child Abuse Clinic for their cooperation in this matter as per Patch.

“The New Haven State’s Attorney’s Office is grateful for the collaborative partnership our office has with police and child welfare authorities, all dedicated to stopping these horrific acts against the most vulnerable and ensuring accountability for those who victimize our children,” Doyle said.
