Last week, authorities in Georgia detained a mother and father, both in their twenties, on charges of sexually abusing their young children. The parents are accused of creating explicit “content” featuring their children for multiple online platforms and even attempting to encourage men to have sexual relations with their 2-year-old daughter.
James Dee Tripp and Ashlee Taylor Crawley were both arrested on Wednesday and face multiple charges related to the accusations.
In accordance with the Child Exploitation and Prevention Act of 2007, Crawley is facing two counts of child molestation and one offense of computer or electronic pornography. One charge of criminal attempt-incest and one charge of criminal attempt-child molestation are against Tripp.
A press release from the Grovetown Police Department states that the couple’s investigation started with a “cybertip” received on the website MeetMe. Officials were informed by the informant that some users were “attempting to solicit males in the area to have sex with their 2-year-old daughter” on the platform.
Crawley “had been creating sexually explicit ‘content,’ and selling it on various online apps,” according to officials, who uncovered this as the inquiry progressed.
“Ms. Crawley was informed that her son, Tripp, was planning to have sexual relations with his biological daughter, who is two years old,” according to the police.
After the parents were taken into custody, the children were taken from their house and placed in the custody of the Division of Family and Children Services.
The investigation into Crawley and Tripp is still ongoing, according to the authorities, who also mentioned that more charges “are expected” to be filed against them as reported by Law&Crime.
The parents are both being held in the Columbia County Jail at this time. Online documents reveal that Tripp’s bond was set at $50,000, while Crawley’s bond is $60,000, according to the records.
