Teen Girl Arrested and Charged After Knife Assault in Chanhassen Home

After attempting to attack someone with a knife in Carver County, a young girl barricaded herself inside a room until the authorities could handle the situation.

During the evening of June 21, around 7:30 p.m., officials responded to a complaint about two adolescents fighting at a property located on the 3000 block of West 78th Street in Chanhassen, as stated by Carver County Sheriff Jason Kamerud.

A fourteen-year-old female, armed with a knife, was pursuing a fifteen-year-old man and threatening to stab him, according to deputies who responded to the scene.

When the deputies arrived, they found the female at the top of a staircase. After noticing them, she proceeded to barricade herself in a room. For his own protection, the male had already shut himself inside a different room.

There was a forty-minute attempt by the authorities to communicate with the remaining suspect, but she did not comply with their demands. The authorities then emptied the building.

The deputies then “saturated the bedroom” with pepper balls, which prompted her to leave the room and led to her arrest. The site revealed the presence and use of a knife.

Since then, the authorities have taken her to the Carver County Juvenile Detention Center, where they are currently holding her on charges of second-degree assault, threats of violence, and domestic assault as per FOX9.

The court reports that she remains in custody.
